reflection

The term 'reflection' as it applies to the area of Earth observation can be defined as ' The return of light or sound waves from a surface. If a reflecting surface is plane, the angle of reflection of a light ray is the same as the angle of incidence'.

The term 'reflection' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' The process whereby radiation (or other waves) incident upon a surface is directed back into the medium through which it traveled'.

The term 'reflection' as it applies to the area of coastlines can be defined as ' the process by which the energy of the wave is returned seaward'.
