deposition

The term 'deposition' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' Material settling out of the water onto the streambed. Occurs when the energy of the flowing water is unable to support the load of suspended sediment. The process of dropping or getting rid of sediments by an erosional agent such as a river or glacier'.

The term 'deposition' as it applies to the area of Earth observation can be defined as ' Process by which water changes phase directly from vapor into a solid without first becoming a liquid'.
