Thermocouple

The term 'Thermocouple' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' A heat-sensing device made of two conductors of different metals joined at their ends. An electric current is produced when there is a difference in temperature between the ends'.

The term 'Thermocouple' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as ' A device consisting of two dissimilar conductors with their ends connected together. When the two junctions are at different temperatures, a small voltage is generated'.
