Semiconductor

The term 'Semiconductor' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as ' Any material that has a limitedcapacity for conducting an electric current. Certain semiconductors, including silicon, gallium arsenide, copper indium diselenide, and cadmium telluride, are uniquely suited to the photovoltaic conversion process'.

The term 'Semiconductor' as it applies to the area of photovoltaics can be defined as ' A material that has a limited capacity for conducting electricity. The silicon used to make PV cells is a semiconductor'.
