The term 'Permafrost' as it applies to the area of carbon dioxide can be defined as ' Perennially frozen ground that occurs wherever the temperature remains below 0 degrees C for several years'.

The term 'Permafrost' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' Perennially frozen soil'.
