Perfluorocarbons(PFCs)

The term 'Perfluorocarbons(PFCs)' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as ' A group of man-made chemicals composed of one or two carbon atoms and four to six fluorine atoms, containing no chlorine. PFCs have no commercial uses and are emitted as a by product of aluminum smelting and semiconductor manufacturing. PFCs have very high 100-year Global Warming Potentials and are very long-lived in the atmosphere'.
