Lysimeter

The term 'Lysimeter' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' In hydrologic terms, a device to measure the quantity or rate of downward water movement through a block of soil usually undisturbed, or to collect such percolated water for analysis as to quality'.

The term 'Lysimeter' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' An isolated block of soil, usually undisturbed and in situ, for measuring the quantity, quality, or rate of water movement through or from the soil'.
