Escarpment

The term 'Escarpment' as it applies to the area of coastlines can be defined as ' a more or less continuous line of cliffs or steep slopes facing in one general direction which are caused by erosion or faulting, also called scarp'.

The term 'Escarpment' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' A cliff or steep slope that separates two level or gently sloping areas. Cliff or steep slope edging higher land'.
