Conduction

The term 'Conduction' as it applies to the area of Earth observation can be defined as ' The transfer of heat from one substance to another by direct contact. Denser substances are better conductors; the transfer is always from warmer to colder substances'.

The term 'Conduction' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' Flow of heat in response to a temperature gradient within an object or between objects that are in physical contact'.
