Indicator -- Commonly called the ticker; the machine operated
by electricity which prints the quotations of stocks, grain,
cotton, etc., on a paper tape.
Also, an automatic apparatus by which prices are thrown
into view is called an indicator. Such an apparatus is sometimes
used in reporting prices in grain and oil (petroleum)
markets.
